The Perfect Team

(Sharing Life, Sharing the Load)

The silence is deafening.
No voices, no music, no evidence of life.
Just me in my office sitting alone.

Never thought such a thing would bother me.
I’m a lone ranger, not needing a team.
This emptiness now, what is the cause?

I guess my dependence has changed somehow.
Tasted the goodness of great companions.
Sharing the work, sharing the dream.

I miss their chatter
Sharing our joys and sharing our pains
Complaints and laughter, tears and smiles

Who’s doing the filing?
Must be your turn!
It’s backing up, the piles are getting deep.

Are you sick?
Stay away from me!
Too much to do, no time off from work!

Now we’ve all gone our separate ways.
Only two left to carry the load.
Those must have been the good ol’ days.

Miss you guys.
