Sacred Encounters

I feel compelled to reach, to touch, to hold, to guide.

But my heart tells me no,
withdraw your hand,
it will only interfere.
Journeys to such a sacred place need be without distraction.

My own vision, still clear and bright,
not tarnished by someone sharing.
For me you came, alone at night,
twas not some group encounter.
Tis still the intimacy of your touch that keeps me day by day.
Priceless are the words you said, meant for no other.

So in the shadows I remain, watching from a distance.
Waiting to hear that thrill of joy that You alone can bring.
